So you want to play backups on a pc

On a pc, it's not about playing backups, it's about:

- not having to find your original game disk
- not risking damage to the original disk
- in some cases, the ridiculous access times as the game peruses the disk

The simplest solution is to make sure you do a full install of whatever software you a using, then use the little google search box to find a No CD patch. If its a video game your best resource is gamecopyworld (just click the title of this post to go there). After downloading the patch, copy the file into the installed software's directory. You'll receive a warning about overwriting an existing file, ignore it.

Done, place your original DVD in a nice safe place. You only need it when you re-install the software.
